Mother Doing Well

I'm grateful that my mother is regaining her energy and becoming more like her normal self every day. She's still receiving therapy, and hopefully will continue to get stronger and more able to care for her own needs. She's living with my sister for the time being, and we are hoping it will become a permanent arrangement.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Psalm 118:1)

  1. Carol,
I'll be praying for your mom and you all as you work together to help her regain her strength and independence.

I'm so glad to read she is getting better,
    Love,
    Elizabeth

  2. Thanks, Elizabeth. She seems to be more cheerful now that she has settled in at my sister's house. Her fractured rib is not bothering her as much, and the new medicines are helping the swelling and pain in her legs. The main worry now is that my sister will decide she can't keep Mom long term. I think my mom was getting depressed living alone, and she doesn't want to do it anymore.

  3. I'm sure it's a relief to see your mom returning to more of her old self. It's always a big adjustment when families take another member into the household and it isn't something that always works well. It can put stresses on the caregiver's entire household. But if your sister is able to take on the responsibility I'm sure it will be a comfort and blessing to your mom.

I found my way here from your other blog and continue to uphold all of you in my prayers.

  4. Thank you so much, Carol. I appreciate your prayers and kind words.

My sister has health problems, too, so we are all concerned that this won't work out. We are considering other options if it doesn't, but for now I'm very grateful to have time to consider alternatives.
