Just as God created everything by His spoken word, those words are still with us in the form of the Bible and in the Holy Spirit which lives within those who believe Christ died for their sins. He sees everything, knows everything, and has power over everything. Nothing we do can be kept secret from Him, nothing we say or think goes unnoticed. Someday we will be held accountable for all we have done or failed to do.
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4: 12-13, NIV)
"Dear Lord, help us to live according to your Word. Guard us from all evil and guide us in the decisions we make. Keep us from stumbling as we travel the path of life so that when the time comes that we must account to you, we will not be ashamed. Thank you for forgiving us when we make mistakes or fail to do what we know is right. Amen."
